Lutheran Women's Missionary Society

"United to Serve Jesus" is the motto of the Lutheran Women's Missionary Society (LWMS) International organization.  Did you know that every woman member of Redeemer, confirmation age and above, is automatically a member of LWMS?  This also includes the local affiliate, Grand Canyon Circuit East.  Women of WELS, through mission boxes and free-will offerings, help support non-funded home and world mission projects of the WELS.  Local rallies are held twice a year to learn more about individual missions.  Annual conventions feature Home and World Mission speakers and displays from around the world.  Both foster life-long friendships among Christian women.  This vibrant and dynamic women's organization has supported mission work around the globe for 50 years.

For more information visit our Grand Canyon Circuit East, or the National LWMS sites.

Mission to the Children

Redeemer Lutheran Church and School, through individual members, has contributed to Mission to the Children for more than 25 years.  Housed in Tucson, this Gospel-motivated Christian and humanitarian aid group was founded by and is administrated by lay WELS members.  Funded solely through donations by WELS members, churches, schools and women's groups, Mission to the Children supports two full-time Mexican Lutheran pastors, churches, residences, vehicles and ministry in Northern Sonora.  Humanitarian aid for over 500 impoverished families includes food coupons, school supplies, vitamins, infant and toddler needs, quilts and blankets, dental supplies, some urgent medical care and Christmas gifts.  Regular trips are made into Sonora to multiple villlages to deliver God's Word, Bibles and VBS materials and humanitarian aid.  Volunteers are needed, especially Spanish-speaking ones (a passport is required.)
